House Rules

The land of Merisyl is a "high magic" realm, and the dangers the party will face are varied and powerful.  To reflect this, and to help player characters survive, the house rules below are recommended for consideration.  Discuss with your Game Master which are to be included in your campaign.


GM Note

The guidance provided to Game Masters for Designing Encounters tends to result in easier-than-expected encounters due to the high magic / high fantasy nature of a Merisyl campaign. The character points, Gifts, action points, etc. give the characters significant additional power.  When designing an encounter, treat the party Average Player Level (APL) as 2 higher than its actual calculation.
