Races

All of the races described in the Core Rulebook are available in Merisyl, with the exception of Halflings.  Kobolds (as described in the Advanced Race Guide) are also common in Merisyl.

Other classes from the Advanced Race Guide are available at the DMs discretion.  Of the races listed there, the Aasimar and Tiefling are considered Draconic in the Merisyl realm.

Additionally, the following races are available as Player Character classes:

  • Ixen – the Ixen are a race of tall, draconic humanoids built for the extreme temperatures of the volcanic slopes.  Their patagia allow them to glide, and their thick skin grants them physical toughness and heat resistance.  They tend to be drawn to spell casting classes.
  • Korthjach– Korthjach are a race of communal humanoids evolved from insects rather than mammals.  They are most comfortable with swamps, fens and forest regions.  Their alien perspective makes them struggle with most forms of arcane magic, and they tend to pursue other classes.
  • Morphic– Morphics are a race of humanoids descended from Dragons who bred while in humanoid form.  Morphics typically demonstrate some physical features that reflect their Dragon-ancestor’s draconic type.  Their high charisma and affinity for arcane magic tends to attract them to sorcerous study, although they make excellent warriors as well.
